Women in Data Science – advancing AI and data science

On March 5, 2018, more than 250 men and women are meeting at Ottawa’s Canada Science and Technology Museum for Women in Data Science (WiDS) Ottawa, an event exploring the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and data sciences, and their impact on advancing industry modernization.

In a recent interview with ITWC, Leonovus Inc. CMO and WiDS Ottawa organizer Alyson Gaffney said attendees can look forward to discussions exploring the social aspects of AI, as well as its business value.

Scheduled guests include ITWC CMO Fawn Annan, Accenture Canada managing director for AI Jodie Wallis, Element AI researcher Negar Rostamzadeh, and Saleschoice founder Cindy Gordon.

“The idea is to get enough female brands out there that it becomes natural,” Gaffney told IT World Canada.

The forum, sponsored by Stanford University’s global WiDS series of conferences, is one of more than 150 events taking place around the world during the week of March 5 to advance awareness of the value of a career in AI and data sciences.

IT World Canada will be live streaming the Ottawa event right here.
