Of the 12 per cent, 80 per cent of respondents feel they are treated respectfully at work.

Carr acknowledges that the technology sector should be proud of how the industry has transformed diversity-wise but emphasized that there is still more that needs to be done.

“We need to ensure inclusion and really a thriving diverse workforce,” she said.

Being fairly new to OPS, Carr shared she has been educating herself on the support groups in place within the company.

She mentioned a volunteer program called Positive Space which is a safe space for members of the OPS community.

The program helps increase awareness and create an inclusive culture and environment.

“The program continues to contribute to the overall goal of allowing people to bring their whole selves to work. We know this is a continuing challenge, there’s always more work to be done…me and my leadership team are committed to LGBTQ2S+.”
