For the second time in as many months, Intel Corp. Monday reduced the prices for some models of its processor line, with the price of desktop Pentium 4 processors and some Xeon processors being cut by as much as 21 per cent.
Faced with stiff competition in a market that is becoming increasing crowded, Handspring Inc. has lowered its suggested retail price for its Visor line of handheld PDAs (personal digital assistants), the company announced Monday.
Intel Corp. on Monday is set to launch its fastest processor to date, a 1.7GHz Pentium 4, and said it plans to greatly reduce prices on the rest of its Pentium 4 chip family later this month.
