In a continued effort to compete with IBM Corp. and its WebSphere offerings, Microsoft Corp. on Tuesday announced imminent availability of Host Integration Server 2004.
Microsoft Corp. plans to release the second beta of Host Integration Server 2004 on Monday, countering earlier suggestions that the product would not be upgraded because its functionality would be rolled into other Microsoft E-Business Server products.
To keep pace with the competition, IBM Corp. is releasing two storage virtualization products by the end of July designed to help existing customers derive better utilization of storage assets.
