Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS) is setting up an IT outsourcing services joint venture in China with Microsoft Corp., along with two software parks in the country and a Chinese software company, Uniware Co. Ltd. in Beijing., TCS announced.
Despite a recession and growing protectionism in key markets like the U.S. and Europe, India's exports of software and services registered robust growth of 26.3 percent in the year to March 31, reaching US$9.5 billion, according to estimates from the Delhi-based National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM).
Indian and Chinese officials have talked a lot recently about helping each other reposition their respective IT industries, to take advantage of cost efficiencies as well as software, hardware and services trends.
