As the landscape of hybrid work continues to evolve, employee demands have shifted, and technology has yet to fully align with the way employees prefer to work. Recently, HP released a global study, The Work Relationship Index, that revealed 61 per cent of Canadians desire the flexibility to divide the time they work between home and the office. However, more than 39 per cent of knowledge workers believe their company lacks the proper tools and technology required for successful hybrid work.
To help tackle the needs of the modern work environment, HP offers a comprehensive portfolio for hybrid work, including the latest additions to the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise 5000/X500 and 6000/X600 Series—printers designed to enable productivity and scale.
With flexible configurations that allow businesses to optimize workflows and meet the needs of busy workgroups, these printers—and their HP TerraJet toner cartridges—scale up or down as companies evolve to meet the ever-changing demands of employees and the business world.
The enterprise-level technology printers are built with industry-leading serviceability in mind. All can be easily serviced as they are manufactured to facilitate physical removal and reinstallation of machine parts including rollers, DC controller board, registration units, paper input and output. The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise 5000/X500 and 6000/X600 Series also include features such as cartridge access control technology, which is designed to make it easier for businesses to manage ink levels.
As for the two-part toner cartridges, they’re built for a long life, high performance and efficient yields. They are also sustainable-by-design delivering up to 27 per cent reduction in energy use and made with up to 78 per cent less plastic in the packaging.
These efforts are integral to HP’s goal to become the world’s most sustainable and just technology company. It already is Canada’s most sustainable technology company, innovating with purpose to go beyond short-term impact and drive positive, lasting change. It includes taking urgent and decisive action to achieve a net-zero carbon value chain and contribute to building Canada’s circular economy. Through 2022, HP manufactured over 5.4 billion Original HP and Samsung cartridges using a cumulative 142,000 tonnes of recycled plastic, including from recycled HP cartridges. This has kept more than one billion Original HP cartridges and an estimated 149 million apparel hangers and 5.8 billion postconsumer plastic bottles out of landfills, instead upcycling these materials for continued use.
HP’s global research into employees’ connection to their work also highlighted another concerning reality – the majority of knowledge workers lack a positive work relationship. Globally, a mere 27 per cent report having a satisfactory relationship, with Canada demonstrating an even lower percentage at just 23 per cent. President & CEO at HP Canada, Mary Ann Yule shares, “Canadian knowledge workers are more likely than global ones to experience negative impacts on their physical and mental well-being when their relationship with work is unsatisfactory. This data is concerning, and we have an opportunity to shape a better relationship for Canadian knowledge workers by listening to their needs and providing the tools and resources to thrive in a hybrid environment.”
The study further identifies six key factors that drive positive change and can assist employees in cultivating a healthier work relationship. These factors encompass fulfillment, leadership, people-centricity, skill development, workspace, and tools.
In Canada, only 27 per cent of knowledge workers feel their company provides them with the necessary tools for success at work, while 22 per cent express confidence that their company will make the right technology choices for effective support of hybrid work.
“Employees want to be heard both in how technology is chosen and how it gets used. Business leaders need to engage their teams to equip them with the right, sustainable tools that will boost productivity, improve flexibility whether at home or at the office, and ultimately lead to growing a healthier relationship with their work,” shares Yule.
The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise 5000/X500 or 6000/X600 is one of those tools that allows workers to be successful. The printers offer all the functionality needed to complete even the most complex print jobs, including a 3-bin stapler/stacker or convenience stapler.
As a fully networked device, employees can access these all-in-one printers from anywhere, meaning they don’t have to come into the office just to hit the print button.
The enhanced user interface creates a pleasant user experience, which ultimately leads to happier and healthier workers which, in turn, makes for a better, more efficient business.
