  • Nokia unveils a 38 megapixel camera phone

    Nokia has unwrapped a new camera phone of unparalleled specifications. The Nokia 808 Pureview, a Symbian-based camera phone unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week sports a whopping 38 megapixel camera.


  • Toshiba lauds its “world’s thinnest tablet”

    Toshiba were also busy at Mobile World Congress, touting its new tablet, which, according to them, is the world’s thinnest. The Toshiba Excite LE starts at US$529, has 16GB of internal storage and is a scant 0.3 inches (7.7 mm) thick.


  • Imperva maps an Anonymous attack

    A security company, Imperva, has mapped what an attack by Anonymous looksl like, giving new insight as to the strategies used by the hacktivists. The attack they studied was against an unnamed site but the data might be useful to organizations who feel at risk of drawing their ire.


  • New conference, DEMO Asia brings entrepreneurs together

    The growing start-up and entrepreneurial tech scene in Asia just go its own conference. Pictured are attendees networking at a pre-show event for DEMO Asia, a new conference aimed at new players in the tech industry.


  • Raspberry Pi, mini-Linux PC demand brings down site

    The extremely popular $25 Raspberry Pi PC went on sale last week and then very quickly off sale. Demand for the mini-pc, which users have praised for its size and versatility was so high that the site for it went down and all stock was depleted. It will go back on sale next month.


  • An electric hugging device

    This product came out of the IDEA Asia 2012 conference, and it’s a bit hard to define the use case (I mean, unless you’re lonely and want a hug from a robot). The T.Jacket is a jacket with air bladders fit into the lining that inflate to “hug” you and are controlled by an Android app (presumably governed by the three laws of robotics).


  • SK Telecom produces small, portable LTE femtocells

    South Korean carrier, SK Telecom, has produced LTE femtocells (which produce LTE wireless signal) that can be deployed indoors to boost signal and coverage. The devices were unveiled at Mobile World Congress last week.
