X CEO Linda Yaccarino revealed that the platform formerly known as Twitter is losing daily active users under the leadership of Elon Musk.
Speaking at Vox Media’s Code 2023 tech conference, Yaccarino said that X currently has 225 million daily active users, down from 245 million in May, before Musk took over. This represents a decline of 8 per cent.
The drop in daily active users is the latest sign that Musk’s leadership of X is off to a rocky start. Musk has made a number of controversial changes to the platform, including firing top executives, loosening content moderation policies, and floating the idea of charging users for verification.
In addition to the decline in daily active users, Yaccarino also revealed that X is facing other challenges. For example, the company is losing advertising revenue. In a recent interview, Musk said that Twitter’s advertising revenue has fallen by 40 per cent since he took over.
Musk has said that he has a plan to turn X around.
