True leadership starts with creating a safe environment where people can work, customers can conduct business and everyone feels confident in how their information is managed. True leadership starts with security.
Malware, botnets, advanced persistent threats and hackers must not jeopardize the successful digital transformation of Canadian enterprises or erode trust with their customers. With every data breach, Canadians wonder what risks they run in conducting more of their everyday transactions through Web sites, mobile devices and cloud-based systems. CIOs, CEOs and other business leaders are losing their jobs in the fallout from high-profile attacks.
This is the context behind the launch of CSODigital, a new media brand from ITWC and CanadianCIO that will include a digital magazine, an e-mail newsletter, blogs, original research, social media channels and events. It is aimed at CSOs, CISOs and other senior executives in charge of risk management and related areas.
It’s been clear for some time that risk management and threat protection is critical to Canadian firms. In fact, IDC Canada this week said the Canadian IT security market covering software, SaaS, hardware and security services generated $1.7 billion dollars in revenue in 2014, and is expected to grow to over $2.5 billion by 2019. Consolidation in the datacentre is a main driving force for investments in security hardware, IDC Canada added, which is expected to outpace growth in software and services over the next 5 years.
