The ability for users to transfer their entire WhatsApp history is now available for Pixel and all other Android 12 phones. WhatsApp chat history transfers are now available on all Pixel devices and will also be enabled on new Android 12 smartphones.
Google said it had worked with the Facebook-owned messaging app to “make it easier to switch from iPhone to Android and take your WhatsApp history with you.”
The user only needs a USB-C Lightning cable to get started. They can simply connect their phones and scan a QR code on their iPhone when setting up their new Android device to start WhatsApp and transfer all their conversations, media and more to the new device.
Users can also visit WhatsApp for iOS > Settings > Chats > Move Chats to Android. This includes text calls, photos and voice messages, with the two companies taking charge to “automatically make sure you do not receive new messages on the old device while the transfer is in progress.”
The new OS also allows users to better transfer data from iOS, such as automatically matching and installing the same iOS apps from Google Play.
