Twitter announced Thursday that it is adding podcasts to a trial version of its audio chat room Spaces. Twitter’s redesigned audio experience in the Space tab allowed it to introduce personalized hubs that group audio content by specific topics such as news, music, sports and more.
By displaying podcasts in Twitter Spaces, Twitter listeners can therefore easily access a more customized selection of live and recorded Spaces discussing the topics that are most relevant to them.
The new hubs will also offer the most popular and engaging podcasts from around the world, with 45 per cent of Twitter users in the U.S. also listening to podcasts monthly.
Twitter will propose compelling podcasts to help people easily find and listen to the topics they want to know more about.
The redesigned Spaces Tab which will include the addition of podcasts, will be visible to a group of worldwide English-speaking audience on iOS and Android.
Ray Chao, general manager of audio at Vox Media, gave positive feedback on Twitter’s decision to integrate podcasts into Twitter Spaces tab.
“Vox Media has a rich array of popular podcasts across many categories, and we’re thrilled that Twitter is expanding its audio capabilities to help more listeners discover them,” Chao said.
