Donald Trump told Fox News on Monday about his plans not to return to Twitter even if his account is reinstated by the new Twitter owner, Elon Musk.
“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on Truth. I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on Truth,” Trump told Fox News.
The Truth Social platform is a free, open-source distributed social network owned by Donald Trump. The service is accessible only through an iPhone app, and access is limited to users in the United States and Canada.
There are indications that Trump’s return to Twitter could affect, and possibly jeopardize, the ambitions and goals he seeks to achieve with the Truth Social platform.
Trump went on to share updates on his social app Truth, which has faced a slew of technical issues, and he said he will formally join his own Truth Social platform in the next seven days as planned.
Since Musk showed interest in buying Twitter, Republicans and other Americans have been calling on the billionaire to reinstate the former president.
