TikTok is requiring its employees to return to the office at least three days per week starting in October.
To further enforce its new policy, TikTok is implementing a new tool called MyRTO. This tool will track employee attendance by monitoring badge swipes. Any employees who are found to be absent on a day when they are supposed to be in the office will be asked to explain their absence.
The attendance data collected by MyRTO will be visible to employees, supervisors, and the company’s human resource division. Additionally, employees in TikTok’s New York office have been told that their lunch stipend will be linked to the app, meaning that they will need to check in from the office in order to access the funds.
This news has been met with mixed reactions, with some employees protesting the return-to-office mandate and others simply accepting it.
