Snapchat+, Snapchat’s subscription service, has reached 4 million paid subscribers in its first year.
The $3.99 per month membership service, which launched in June 2022, gives clients access to exclusive and pre-release features such as Snapchat for Web and the AI-powered chatbot My AI.
It began as a way for the company’s most devoted consumers to have access to experimental and pre-released features, but within two months, over 1 million individuals had signed up. It then added further features to the subscription package, including a first look at its new AI-powered chatbot.
“Since launching the service a year ago, the appetite for it has been incredible and our team is excited to continue driving a rapid cadence of new experiences for our growing subscriber base of more than four million,” said Jack Brody, vice president of product at Snapchat.
Snapchat, whose stock increased roughly 1% to $11.73, has vowed to bring out additional features to Snapchat+ members in the coming weeks. Some of which include “expressive” chat messages that allow users to match their content with larger fonts to demonstrate more emotion and personalized chat colors, and expansion to other countries.
