Oracle Corp. has overhauled its SAO Suite, a unified application integration and SOA suite that it says better helps software developers to connect mobile and Web applications.
Version 12C of the suite includes new debugging and testing capabilities, and extensive templating that can be used to share best practices as well as accelerate the development or maintenance of projects.
Oracle Event Processing 12c, a module of the suite that allows applications to filter and correlates data messages, now shares an interface with the rest of the suite, another way of helping developers.
Another module that comes with the suite, Oracle Business Activity Monitoring (BAM), has been enhanced to enable rapid assessment of key performance indicators by storing data in a star schema format.
“To capitalize on new business opportunities, organizations need the flexibility to use diverse solutions and environments to best meet their needs, and this can pose distinct and sizeable application integration challenges,” Amit Zavery, group vice president for Oracle’s, Fusion Middleware division. “With Oracle SOA Suite 12c, we are helping organizations overcome those obstacles by delivering an integration platform that is specifically designed for organizations’ diverse application ecosystems. By enabling significantly simplified integration, Oracle SOA Suite 12c helps organizations speed time to market, increase productivity, and lower costs.”
As an article in Computerworld U.S. notes, usually application integration middleware focuses on bridging systems though XML, CSV and other protocols. The update to the SOA Suite will help developers add mobile and Web applications.
