Microsoft has unveiled its fourth data centre in India.
The new data centre will offer all Microsoft offerings including cloud, data solutions, AI, productivity tools, CRM and advanced data security.
“The new datacenter will augment Microsoft’s cloud capabilities and capacity to support those working across the country. It will also support new entrepreneurial opportunities while meeting critical security and compliance needs. The new datacenter region is a testament to our mission to empower the people and organizations of India to achieve more,” said Anant Maheshwari, President of Microsoft India.
The new data centre is located in the southern Indian state of Telangana. Microsoft will work with the government of Telangana to fast-track the adoption of cloud, AI, IoT and cybersecurity solutions in governance.
According to IDC, Microsoft datacenter regions in India contributed $9.5B in revenue to the economy between 2016 and 2020.
IDC predicts that the entire Indian public cloud services market will reach $10.8 billion by 2025.
