LinkedIn now works after brief outage

LinkedIn, a social network for professionals, announced that its app and website were back online on Wednesday after a brief outage.

According to Downdetector, which tracks shutdowns by compiling performance data from a variety of sources, including bugs posted by users on its platform, nearly 15,000 users had reported problems with the employment-oriented online service, which operates through websites and mobile apps.

“Pardon us. If you were having trouble viewing LinkedIn today, we’re back in action,” LinkedIn said in a tweet.

When Linkedin went, it was reportedly due to a DNS problem, and users who experienced the problem have filed complaints across multiple channels. While some users complained of problems with the LinkedIn app, others reported problems opening their profile.

LinkedIn has not yet issued an explanation for the outage, other than that it is now operational.
