Lenovo has unveiled its new laptop line for 2022, with a focus on communications and CPUs. Laptops include the ThinkPad X1 laptops and the ThinkPad Z16 and Z13 laptops.
The ThinkPad X1 Edition includes three laptops, all of which will be available in March: the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 for $1,639, the ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 2 for $1,659, and the ThinkPad Yoga Gen 7 for $1,749.
Features of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 include a 14-inch screen with up to 3840 x 2400 resolution and the option for OLED. It also features redesigned keycaps for more air intake and up to a 12th-gen Intel U-series CPU.
The ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 2 features a 13-inch screen with a resolution of 2160×1350 pixels and a brightness of 450 nits. It is equipped with a 12th generation Intel Core i7 P28-series processor with 14 cores.
The ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 7 is a 3-pound convertible thinkpad with a 2-in-1 14-inch screen that can reach up to a 3840 x 2400 OLED panel. It is expected to be equipped with Core i7 U15 and P28-series processors.
One major change Lenovo has made to the ThinkPad Z16 and Z13 series is the use of AMD’s Ryzen 5000 mobile CPUs instead of Intel. The Z16 will be available in May and start at $2,099 and the Z13 at $1,549.
One of the features of the ThinkPad Z16 and Z13 is the use of a glass touchpad with haptic feedback within an all-glass palm rest.
