IFTTT, an initialism from the phrase ‘if this, then that’ an automation platform that allows users to create applets linking a variety of devices and services, has announced the launch of three new AI-powered services: AI Social Creator, AI Content Creator, and AI Summarizer.
The new services, available exclusively to users of the $5 monthly Pro Plus plan, enable the creation of short-form and long-form content for social media and blog posts, as well as the summarization of articles from a range of news outlets.
IFTTT’s applets, which allow users to automate processes such as posting articles to social media channels or receiving notifications about the weather, are powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3 language model. The new AI-powered services extend IFTTT’s functionality, allowing users to generate tweets and blog post outlines based on prompts they provide, and to receive summarized versions of news articles via email.
While similar AI-powered services are already available through platforms such as ChatGPT and Bing’s chatbot, IFTTT’s integrations make the process even more hands-off, enabling users to create applets that run automatically with minimal input. However, caution and thorough testing are recommended, as the services may provide inaccurate information or outright falsehoods.
According to Peter Curley, IFTTT’s Vice President of Marketing, the company plans to release additional AI services in the near future. The new AI-powered services are available as applets on IFTTT’s website, or users can create their own.
