An hacking attempt has affected the Hospital Centre of Versailles, which includes Andre-Mignot Hospital, Richaud Hospital, and the Despagne Retirement Home, according to the complex’s management.
The attackers behind this ransomware incident have already demanded a ransom, according to Richard Delepierre, co-chairman of the hospital’s supervisory board. While the ransomware operation behind the André-Mignot hospital attack is unknown, multiple gangs have been known to target healthcare organizations.
Because telephone communications, internet, and all computer systems were disrupted, Andre-Mignot Hospital canceled operations and transferred six patients from its neonatal and intensive care units to other healthcare facilities.
While the machines were still operational in the intensive care unit, more people were required to monitor the screens because they were no longer connected to a network.
Despite this, walk-in services and consultations were still available at the hospital. However, the Paris prosecutor’s office has opened a preliminary investigation into attempted extortion as well as access to and maintenance of the state’s digital system. On Sunday, the hospital also filed a formal complaint.
