Networking equipment manufacturer D-Link Corp. is warning users of its routers that several models of its products are vulnerable to remote attacks.
An advisory issued by the company said that “malicious users who might be connected to the LAN-side of the device” could use the router’s upload utility to load malicious code without authentication.
Another vulnerability involves the router’s ping utility that could allow comman injections without authetication.
In other developments, the US Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) has published a report on Defensive Best Practices for Destructive Malware. The documents provides organizations with guidance on how the guard their networks against various threats and how to minimize the impact caused by malware.
