Google Inc.’s Buzz social networking service has privacy advocates worrried.
In Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner is investigating Google Buzz, and south of the border, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) filed a complaint with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission
Google Buzz is a tab on the Gmail Web mail service, and EPIC has said it should be an opt-in, rather than opt-out service.
EPIC was also concerned Google was creating followers’ lists using Gmail contacts.
Google has made some changes and apologized for the initial way the service was offered.
