SolarWinds Inc., which makes the Orion network and application monitoring applications, has added Tek-Tools Softwares' Profiler suite of products to its lineup. Profiler gives users visibility into the performance of storage and virtualized server infrastructures, the company said. The addition of Tek-Tools' offerings means the company can deliver an end-to-end IT management solution, it said in a news release.
Based in Austin, Texas, SolarWinds paid about $US42 million in cash and stock for the assets of privately-held Tek-Tools, which is headquartered in Dallas. In November Tek-Tools said it closed its third quarter with an increase in revenue of 78 per cent over the same quarter of the previous year, its best third quarter in the history of the company. As a private company it didn't release detailed figures.
“Over the past 10 years, we've proven that our technology solves complex problems in very simple ways and that our business model of delivering powerful, easy to use, low-cost management solutions can succeed for a wide range of customers,” SolarWinds CEO Mike Bennett said in the news release .”The integration of Tek-Tools' storage and virtualization management products is an important addition to our product portfolio that will allow us to respond to customer demand for an end-to-end IT management solution that offers deeper visibility into networked storage and virtualized environments.”
