How we’re aggregating Canadian IT information

We may be IT World Canada, but we're aware there are other planets in orbit.

In other words, I know there is a growing list of sources for Canadian technology industry news and information, be it our direct competitors, mainstream publications like the Globe and Mail or Canadian Business, bloggers and really good Twitter users. Unless you've got a really well-organized list of feeds and have the time to make sure they're relevant, however, few IT managers have an effective dashboard for all things Canadian IT. We're hoping to change that now.

Recently, as part of our Quest For Canada's Smartest IT contest (there's still time to sign up and nominate yourself), we decided to dip our toes into aggregation by setting up well-curated feeds around topics that we know are important to our audience. Besides just funnelling in all the links, however, we decided to structure these as glossary pages, with detailed background about the topic that offers a good introduction for those getting up to speed. This may never be a truly complete IT glossary, of course — I doubt one exists — but it's better than anything else I've seen in Canada.

Our new aggregation/glossary pages are as follows:

Virtualization

Business Intelligence

Risk Management
Green IT

I'd really like to hear feedback from our readers on whether the aggregation we're doing on these pages is valuable, if there are other sources that should be added, and if there are other topics that should be given the same treatment.
