ComputerWorld Canada, the national voice of IT Management, has the ever-popular Blogging Idol product; and after a successful contest season, we are pleased to announce the winners!
Contestants were welcomed to contribute blog entries on technology themes at blogidol.ca by May 23, 2011 for a chance to win the $1,000 grand prize or valuable gift certificates. Blog content was evaluated on the queality of the individual post. Writing multiple blog posts, in multiple categories, increased one's chances of winning and ideas were provided by the editors of ComputerWorld Canada, training on blogging best practices. Judges then critiqued posts in the comments area and readers chose their favorites by using the ratings function.
The results of this year's judging were as close as they possibly could've been, with the overall winner shaving past second place by a single point out of 100. Only five points separated the first and third place winners. Prizes were awarded at Paupers in downtown Toronto, the winner's names can be found below.

Blogging Idol is a collaborative, not a competitive project. We are in the midst of creating online discussion about what BI should become going forward and will keep you posted on how you can continue to be involved. Thank you, again, to all of those involved.
