Renzo Dipasquale has just been named Avaya Canada's new channel chief replacing Mary Ann Whittle who was promoted to a global role earlier this year.
Avaya Canada president, Ross Pellizzari in a note to CDN said that Renzo is very excited about joining the Avaya Canada team and sees a tremendous growth opportunity for the company's solutions in Canada. He is looking forward to growing the business, and maintaining a leadership position in UC, CC and SMEC, and driving growth in the data business. Renzo’s primary focus will be to integrate the Avaya Channel Partners into Avaya in order to make it easier to do business with and lead Avaya Canada to becoming the best channel team in the industry.
Dipasquale has spent the last 12 years of his 20 year career with ONX as its vice president of sales, Hummingbird and Symantec Canada. Dipasquale's ONX experience I think will help him deliver more quality channel partners to Avaya. ONX is a big Cisco partner. A gold certified partner at that. ONX is also one of IBM and HP's top partners as well. From a competitive standpoint, Dipasquale will be able to tactically position Avaya solutions against Cisco in the market place and may be able to give Avaya partners a leg up
He was also country manager for Fred Sorkin and Barry Litwin's Hummingbird Ltd. Reporting to Dipasquale will be Claudia Cress (BCE), George Pappas (Telus), and Gord Simpson (Programs), along with the new VAR/SI leader when that role is filled.
Pellizzari also hired Boris Koechlin to be his leader in the Central Region. Koechin has vast telecommunications knowledge and a passion for video. Koechlin was the president and GM for Cisco/Tandberg Canada.
