Borland Software Corp. is bringing modeling and designing capabilities to the .Net development community in a new incarnation of its Together tool.

Kicking off the InfoWorld CTO Forum last month in Boston, Ian Foster told corporate technology leaders that the time is nigh to start using grid technologies.

Art Technology Group Inc. and Unica Corp. each enriched their online CRM packages, both with an eye toward helping companies more effectively relate to customers. ATG will soon make ATG 6 available, and Unica made Affinium 5 available recently.

As the year draws to a close, a number of CRM providers are enhancing their products. Specifically, Oracle Corp. detailed some of the improvements that will come to its offerings early next year, while PeopleSoft Inc. and Siebel Systems Inc. announced updates to their suites.

IBM Corp. and Microsoft Corp. are making database waves this week and flowing toward each other's established terrains.
