Hewlett-Packard Co. is announcing five new servers, including a new blade server and a new rack server, along with two new storage products aimed at the entry-level storage area network (SAN) market.

IBM Corp. has added support for third-party vendors to its TotalStorage SAN Volume Controller (SVC) for the Cisco Systems Inc. MDS 9000, which will allow IT departments with mixed storage vendor environments to virtualize storage across multivendor platforms.
