Students and teachers at Amir Kabir Industrial University have designed and built the first Iranian supercomputer, containing 32 Pentium III microprocessors working in parallel.
The deputy director of Iran's Education and Collegiate Affairs in the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medicine has appointed Dr. Abbas Foroutan as the administrator of the country's distance medical education network. Foroutan, the head of Accidents Medicine at Shaheed Beheshti School of Medicine, had been nominated for the position by the principal of the Medical Community Constant Education program.
