Workforce management software Ventyx is integrating geographical information system software from ESRI Canada into its product line to help its customers better allocate field technicians and other resources.
The GIS software will work with Service Suite, a tool used by companies to organize employees who work remotely or in the field in areas such as energy delivery, broadband, telecommunications and water.
ESRI Canada said Ventyx’s Service Suite makes use of several embedded ESRI components, both server and desktop based, to create more “location aware” decisions. This would mean a company would have a better sense of where their work orders are and where mobile workers should be deployed, for example.
