What is most significant about Research in Motion’s decision to jointly trial General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) technology with Toronto’s Microcell Connexions is that the Waterloo, Ont. company has now partnered with most of the major wireless access providers in Canada, according to analyst Iain Grant of the Yankee Group in Canada.
“RIM was active with Cantel, it’s on Clearnet’s (board of governors), and it has worked with Bell Mobility,” Grant pointed out.
