Amazon cloud customers can now run virtual instances of Windows Server 2012, the company has announced.
Tom Rizzo, the general manager for AWS’s Windows team, wrote in a blog post that Amazon was publishing 31 different images of the operating system, including 19 images for different languages, as well as for SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2.
The company’s Elastic Beanstalk framework , which is intended to help companies scale, balance and provision their cloud computing resources, will also now support Windows Server .NET applications, he wrote.
