LAS VEGAS – Attendees at virtualization vendor VMware Inc.’s (NYSE: VMW) annual VMworld conference had their heads in the clouds but a member of McMaster University’s IT team was a little closer to earth, joining ComputerWorld Canada for a ride on the gondola at The Venetian hotel to discuss the conference.
The Hamilton, Ont.-based university recently completed a major VMware deployment and Michael Curwin, manager of information technology and services for McMaster’s Faculty of Engineering, joined us to discuss the experience with virtualization, the potential in VMware’s hybrid cloud vision, and how McMaster is changing the endpoint by no longer deploying desktop computers on campus.
