Bell’s flanker brand Virgin Mobile has been renamed to Virgin Plus to showcase a new identity that “reflects the company’s evolving service offerings beyond mobility,” according to the press release.
“Canadians want more from their service providers, and Virgin Plus is giving it to them,” says Jennifer Posnikoff, head of brand marketing of Virgin Plus. “Virgin Plus reflects the evolution of our brand beyond mobility to encompass mobile Internet and TV all from one provider. Plus, awesome Member Benefits and customer service.”
In addition to being Bell’s affordable mobile brand, offering services over HSPA+, 4G LTE and LTE-A, Virgin Plus also offers internet and TV packages, hence the rebranding.
It’s unclear whether the new brand will mean a new direction for the company.
