Two Canadians will be inducted into the Canadian Information Productivity Awards (CIPA) Hall of Fame this month.
Richard C. Alvarez, president and CEO of Canada Health Infoway (CHI), and Edward W. Lawlor, founder and president of DeltaWare Systems Inc. were chosen because they helped build innovative organizations for the 21st century.
Alvarez, for the past 20 years, has championed the application of information and communications technologies to improve healthcare delivery, and forged much of Alberta’s modern healthcare strategy as Assistant Deputy Minister of Alberta Health and Wellness.
Lawlor, for the past 35 years, has worked in the IT industry in software engineering, project management, senior management, and as educator and entrepreneur. He’s also been member of various associations including the Information Technology Association of Canada, and the Information Technologies Associaton of PEI.
The inductions will take place during the 15th annual CIPA Gala Banquet.
