Twitter will gauge the popularity of both candidates based on supporting (or opposing tweets). This sort of sentiment analysis, as it’s called in the IT industry, is a new and intriguing area for marketers especially. Efforts to give unstructured data (in this case, tweets) some sort of structure to allow it to be analyzed is gaining a lot of momentum.
