A new niche IT job board where IT pros will have access to thousands of job opportunities is soon to be launched by technology publisher IT World Canada Inc. and online IT recruitment site JobServe Canada Inc.
The partnership is such that jobs posted on either site will get cross-advertised. Companies recruiting for technology jobs will have access to the vast IT community that follows IT World Canada’s print and online publications. And, IT pros who regularly visit IT World Canada will have a dedicated job board just for technology.
JobServe today has a strong global presence in IT recruitment based on previous acquisitions of IT job boards, including Jobshark.ca, ComputerJobs.com and ComputerWork.com.
Christopher Klotz, CEO of JobServe Canada, describes the partnership as “made in heaven” given the broad yet specific access it affords both job seekers and hiring organizations. “Just accessing that IT community is crucial in a passive, non-aggressive way,” said Klotz.
IT World Canada’s sites, built on search engine optimization technology, means visitors can read a news article that gets accompanied by a relevant IT job. “If it’s an article about network guys, we’re going to have network jobs appear besides those articles,” said Klotz.
The technology behind JobServe, too, will make job hunting easier for the IT pro. The platform is essentially a behavioural matching tool that creates a profile of the job seeker based on the resume, and the nature and location of postings viewed and applied for.
“If the person is sitting in Toronto but we also see them looking for jobs in Vancouver … we know the behaviour is the same, so let’s start sending him opportunities in Vancouver,” said Klotz.
