Vancouver-based Telus Corp. has enhanced its Short Messaging Service (SMS) in its Internet Protocol Next-Generation Network (IP NGN) with Cisco System’s carrier-class Signaling Transfer Point (STP) technology.
The technology, known as Cisco 7600 Internet Protocol Transfer Point (ITP) Solution should provide telecommunications provider with an advanced SMS routing and redundancy scheme via its Multilayer Routing (MLR) capability.
Telus said the technology will ensure customers receive reliable and convenient SMS services.
