Sit down, shut up and don

Shawn Nelson, who created the celebrated “LoveSac” bean bag chair (“It’s not just a damn bean bag!”) invites gamers to join the likes of Hillary Duff, Jamie Foxx and other high profilers in comfort.

Nelson’s taken his LoveSac, enjoyed as it is by those VIPs, and transformed it for gaming relief. The result: GameSac, designed to provide people locked in virtual battle for virtual glory with the physical support they need to defeat digital nemeses. GameSac, a four-by-four foot “beanbag,” for lack of a better description, is made from a shredded DuraFoam core that’s said to conform to the sitter’s body for ultimate corporeal reinforcement. It comes with a pocket built for controllers, games and remotes, and it offers an optional cup holder so gamers need not suspend their matches and their concentration in order to get up for refreshments.

The GameSac’s cover is washable and available in console-appropriate colours: lime green and black for Xbox owners; blue and black for PlayStation players; grey and black for Nintendo owners. You can zip two GameSacs together to create what Nelson calls the “LongOne,” “great for multi-player action,” according to a press release.

The GameSac is guaranteed for two lifetimes (real ones, not game ones). Nelson, 28, won Virgin leader Richard Branson’s Rebel Billionaire award.

The press release suggests visiting www.lovesac.com for more information about the GameSac but at press time the site offered no information about Nelson’s latest invention.
