Varicent Software Inc. of Toronto is shipping sales force pay calculation software for BlackBerry smart phones. Varicent Mobile is a module of the vendor’s SPM software, which is designed to help sales managers calculate the commission, bonuses, and other remuneration owed to their sales representatives.
With the release of Varicent Mobile, the company is now a member of Waterloo, Ont.-based Research in Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry independent software vendor alliance program. Varicent, which develops sales software, said it wrote a mobile module for its software because studies show sales executives tend to spend at least half their time away from their desks.
Varicent Mobile lets manager access information on sales projections and view sales results by territory, customer or product line.
It also lets the sales reps view their commissions and bonuses from their BlackBerry handhelds. The software was developed in a partnership with Boston-based Vaultus Mobile Technologies Inc., which develops software for wireless devices.
