RAMTelecom lanuches satellite network

RAMTelecom on Monday launche Global-IP, a broadband satellite network it said will be aimed at the needs of large North American enterprise customers.

The Ottawa-based firm said Global-IP will support a variety of data and voice applications, including videoconferencing and voice-over-IP. Large mining operations, oil and gas firms and ISPs in northern communities will be among the likely targets for the network, according to RAMTelecom.

Service plans include fully dedicated or shared links in a private network environment employing Quality Of Service (QOS), encryption and acceleration technologies.
