Radialpoint Inc.’s Desktop Internet Security Suite (RPS) has been awarded an anti-virus certification by ICSA Labs.
The Montreal-based Internet security and services firm said its desktop security suite was given the certificate after ICSA Labs analysts tested the software for its effectiveness in detecting and preventing malware. The RPS monitors files and scans e-mail messages and attachments, automatically detecting and removing viruses to protect the user.
“With the mounting volume and severity of online viruses, Internet users realize that effective anti-virus protection isn’t a luxury but a necessity,” George Japak, managing director at ICSA Labs, said in a release. “Consumers look to ICSA Labs as an independent source to confirm anti-virus product effectiveness. Radialpoint’s anti-virus service demonstrates its commitment to providing high quality standards for functionality and performance.”
ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon Business, is a vendor-neutral testing that certifies security products.
