In a report on the employment situation released last week by Statistics Canada, it seems that Ottawa’s tech sector is gradually gaining back some of its former glory. According to this Ottawa Citizen article, there were 1,000 new jobs in the national capital’s IT sector, for a total of 52,200 jobs.
The article notes, however, that this is well below the peak number of IT jobs Ottawa had in 2007. It might take a while to reinvigorate the booming telecom hub that the city was in the last decade.
