For the first time, Oracle is releasing a Java Runtime Edition for Mac OSX systems; with the new Java SE 7 Update 6, the company has added security features and will send updates for both Windows and Apple systems simultaneously. Oracle also released two versions for ARM processors, as well as as a new version of JavaFX 2.2.
The interesting thing about this version of JavaFX is that it now supports both Mac and Linux on x86 and x64 hardware. Earlier this year, developers on those platforms had expressed their frustration with Oracle for leaving them out in previous versions. It seems that Oracle has listened to them.
