On-line career network goes Canadian

With the search for skilled IT professionals becoming more of a challenge, some Canadian organizations are now turning to the Web as a powerful recruiting tool.

Jeff Taylor, CEO of the Monster.com on-line career network, said the Internet is exactly the place to look since many IT professionals prefer this method of job search.

“I think what you find is that your typical software person is not picking up the newspaper and going through the help wanted section, but loves the fact that this is in their world (recruiting on-line). They can go on-line and very quickly bookmark a job search they can check time to time,” he explained.

Taylor was in Toronto recently for the official launching of the revamped Monster.ca, a Canadian version of Monster.com that started in October ’97.
