While all user conferences are, at least nominally, about users, Information Builders Inc.’s Tech Summit ’99 seemed to have an especially strong focus on letting users tell their stories to other users.
The user focus was evident from the beginning of the conference when a group of IBI users, who had earned recognition as Laureates from the Computerworld (U.S.) Smithsonian Awards program, were trotted out on stage, medals gleaming around their necks, in order to achieve recognition from their peers in the audience.
