NuView Inc. is updating its storage management software to include data lifecycle management, snapshot backups and byte-level replication of data.
StorageX 4.0 lets administrators manage and move data automatically across heterogeneous devices based on criteria such as age, size or type of data. This lets users reduce the cost of storing data by moving the data to less-expensive secondary storage.
It also gives users the capability to back up data via snapshot technology and replicate just the changes, thus shortening the time to back up data.
The company has also expanded its global namespace to include synchronization between Windows and Unix namespaces in Network Appliance Inc. file server environments.
StorageX’s global namespace unifies storage that is distributed throughout a network, resulting in a single view of storage and better storage utilization.
StorageX is available now, starting at US$2,000 per device managed.
