Waltham, Mass.-based Novell Inc. announced Wednesday the availability of new security software which offers improved encryption for personal data management, removable storage and white-listed devices.
The enterprise infrastructure software maker said ZENworks Endpoint Security Management allows organizations control applications, protocols and removable storage devices, as well as, deliver encryption to files, folders, and networks. For instance, the software also enables the end user to specify encryption policies down to the “My Documents” folder their hard drive.
And keeping with data encryption, the ZENworks features enhanced password protections that aim to provide improved security for lost or stolen laptops. To ensure this, the software requires an additional password to prove user identity before permitting decryption of data.
