Nortel Networks has released the CVX1800, which provides a single solution for carriers and ISPs looking to increase revenues by offering IP services such as modem wholesaling, VoIP, fax over IP, VPN, and tandem access. Specifically designed for network wholesaling, the CVX 1800 can terminate 10,752 simultaneous subscriber calls per rack. The CVX universal port capability allows incoming data/VoIP/FoIP calls to be dynamically recognized, so that any service is supported on any available port. The CVX 1800 with enhanced capabilities will be available in the third quarter of 2000. Pricing will range from US$200 to $300 per port depending on configuration.
