Chicago-based technology provider Clarity Consulting Inc. announced Monday what it’s calling the point of sale (POS) system of the future.
The POS is said to improve the consumer experience and reduce checkout times and employee training costs. Among the features benefitting the consumer is a 15-inch touch screen showing images of scanned items to the consumer, and a marketing cube for store promotions.
On the retailer’s end, there’s a ergonomically designed check-out lane, a fingerprint reader for touch access to the register, and a “smart scale” to capture the weight and price of food items with a single touch.
A combination of hardware and software, the POS can be integrated into a retailer’s existing Windows-based infrastructure.
